Trinaad is Aparna Panshikar on North Indian classical Vocals, Jayen Varma on bass guitar and Jean Davoisne on drums. A unique collaboration to create not only music but an experience.
The trio blends indian music and western influences. Freedom of improvisation within the discipline and structure of a routine of rhythm and melodic features of a Raga.
In collaboration for many years, the three musicians deceided to create the band Trinaad in 2017, they recorded their very first album during the summer 2017 in Toulouse, France. This EP "Le Sortilège du Poisson" will be available in January 2018.
Having been born in a family renowned for its passion and achievements in various forms of performing arts, Aparna had an early introduction to Indian (Hindusthani) Classical music. Her first Guru, late Pandit Bhaskarbua Joshi was a direct disciple of the late Pandit Ramkrishnabua Vaze, who was a well-known and leading singer from the Gwalior gharana.
The Gwalior gharana is considered to be the source from which all the other gharanas of Hindusthani Classical music have evolved.
Aparna is currently training under her mother, Smt. Meera Panshikar. Aparna’s individual singing style has been well received & often awarded, by audiences as well as connoisseurs in innumerable concerts in India & several other countries like US, France, Germany, Switzerland, England, Korea, Afghanistan, Indonesia, etc.
Her musical performances include pure classical to semi classical forms & experimentation in combining North & South Indian Classical Music & Collaborations with International electroacousticians & musicians of various genres. She has so far released nine musical albums of her own. She has participated in and led various seminars and discourses in recent years & is presently running her dream ‘Bandish – the school of Music’, as an umbrella institution for supporting learning, research and propagation of Indian music all over the world, and also as a convergence point for musicians of all description. The systematic online training method developed by her has won her a lot of disciples across the globe.
Jean Davoisne is in the music industry for two decades. Drummer, composer, teacher and producer, he founded two drum schools in the south of France. Jean endorses Tama, Zildjian, Pro Orca and Gruv Gear.
1st prize of jazz drumming of the musical confederation of France, Jean Davoisne is a versatile drummer who could collaborate with artists such as: Tina Guo (album "Eternity"), DJ Miss Roxx (live), Divinity Roxx (masterclass), Jayen Varma (masterclass), Lux (masterclass), Lili Cros (session), Jonathan Bernede (session), Angie Swan (masterclass), Klein Orchestra (2010 to 2014), Kapsaïcine (session), IPHAZE (live album "Conn3ction", tour 2014, 2015, 2016), Black Limousine (album "Human Stories" 2017) etc...
His discography has a dozen albums, some as co-producer such as "Rock" (Alkimya - 2005), "The Other Side" (Alkimya - 2007 - Brennus Music) distributed in more than 35 countries.
Jean is also a recognized teacher, he teaches drums since 2002. He regularly organizes workshops, clinics and masterclasses in his schools with national or international artists. He was also conductor in several schools of music and have composed pieces for orchestra and organ. In 2013, he composed the Original Soud Track of "Le Fantôme de Laurely" (Vis Or Prod.) A French short film, his first experience in the film industry.
His interest in teaching drums has grown in interest for teaching in general. Thus, he was able to coach music workshops and full bands for large companies such as Airbus Group.
JayaKumar KeralaVarma – aka - Jayen Varma comes from Cochin, Kerala, India. He is known for developing Tabla and Mridangam style finger technique on bass guitar. The style developed by him is widely known as ‘Indian Slap Bass’, which won him fans around the globe & accolades from some of the great names in bass guitar like Jeff Berlin, Bootsy Collins,

He is also a drummer & a disciple of Mridangam Maestro Prof Parassala Ravi.
He has been in the world of music for the last 3 decades performing in various musicians of different genres in & outside India.
